Investment

  • Moogies was established in 2013 to acquire existing pubs & restaurants that were underperforming or closed & through investment, turn them into sustainable businesses, recognised & valued by the communities they serve.
  • The company is 100% privately owned, operated & financed, allowing us to make all decisions in the best interest of the venues, our customers & the people who work for us.

Local engagement

  • We engage with the local community in a number of ways, including:
    • Providing support for local fundraising events
    • Running Brush Party events in our venues
    • Showcasing art from local artists
    • Running a local book club from The Black Boy
    • Inviting local musicians to get involved with our summer busking event
    • Providing local employment

Moogies Giveback

  • Our Moogies Giveback Scheme offers 10% off the food bill to nurses, community care workers, prison officers, state school members of staff or people working within the emergency services or armed forces. It’s our gesture in recognition of the great work they do!
  • To date, the scheme has provided savings of £5,750.

Charities

  • We’ve always supported local charities. Our ‘dish donation scheme’ has raised over £7,650 for local charities so far.
  • We also host monthly charity quiz nights, put collection tins on the bar, raise funds through raffles & staff fundraising initiatives & support fundraising events where we can.
  • Our current ‘Company Charity’ is The PACE Centre, based in Aylesbury. A ground-breaking children’s charity that transforms the lives of children & young people with motor disorders, such as cerebral palsy.

Moogies Sustainability Manager on panel

  • We are members of the Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF) Net Zero Collaboration Circle.
  • On Clean Air Day, Moogies were invited to contribute as a speaker at the BBF ‘Focus on Marketing your Green Credentials’ event. This event was led by Ngage Solutions & our Sustainability Manager, Helen Barrett, was one of 3 people to take part on the panel.
  • Also, our Sustainability Manager was invited by a senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes University to deliver a presentation to final year Event Management students about how and why Moogies have been adopting a more sustainable approach to the way we operate.
